Business Analyst - Frankfurt, Germany

Church & Dwight GmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main is looking for a Business Analyst.

We are part of a successful $4bn organisation with our Headquarters in New Jersey. This is an exciting time to join our newly opened European subsidiary which only started trading in January 2018.  In Germany we are responsible for selling and marketing selected Church & Dwight brands within the German market with ambitious plans to grow over the forthcoming years.

The Business Analyst will work closely with the Country Leader and other functional heads. You will be responsible for all commercial planning activities for Marketing & Sales in Germany. Acting as a business partner to internal stakeholders, analysis will include: customer profitability, promotional deal analysis, sales and profitability forecasting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for providing commercial and financial insights on retailer and market performance and  influential in shaping the strategic decisions for key customers / distributors and providing challenge and support to the Sales and Marketing team.
  • Develop Retailer profit & loss (P&L) with particular focus on profit, margins, ROI and identification of risks & opportunities
  • Developing NPD analysis and potential, other brand P&L analysis with Marketing
  • Analyse market research data, retailer scanner data and present insights to assist the business, understand market trends and R&O
  • Support Marketing and Sales with recommendations for developing sales plans and forecasts
  • Full year and year to date analysis for customers, distributors, brands, promotions, NPDs = Sales tracking (Sales per Retailer, unit performance, order entry tracking, slow mover, fast mover)
  • Prepare data / presentations for meetings, retailer visits, business reviews
  • Ad hoc analysis as required
  • Supervise the German sales forecast between German Key Account Managers and the Demand Planning Manager based in the UK

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Degree in Business Administration or Finance & Accounting or similar
  • Be experienced in Forecasting, Analysis and Reporting
  • Have excellent analytical skills and able to sort through complex and massive data, including their interpretation
  • Have excellent numeracy, written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Have high standards of accuracy and precision; be highly organized
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Have the ability to work in an international team
  • Have high learning agility, proactive and solution oriented attitude
  • Be able to handle short deadline driven deliverables
  • Possess strong Excel skills, and ideally experience with SAP
  • Fluent in German and English essential
