Project Buyer

If the answer is yes - then look no further as Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a driven Project Buyer to join our exclusive team! This role is on a permanent basis and is located at our UK head office in Folkestone, Kent.

This is a key role within our GMS Purchasing team, who are responsible for sourcing, negotiating and contract management of our third-party vendors for our European subsidiaries. Key duties include:

  • Manage the commercial relationship between the internal New Production Introduction project teams and external suppliers, ensuring that stakeholder needs are met whilst maintaining effective business relationships.
  • Supplier management including gap analysis, negotiation and working closely with line manager to develop category/commodity strategies.
  • Manage European rejects and complaints issues for allocated portfolio

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • At least 5 years in a similar role, ideally within a pharma, medical device, food supplement or personal care/FMCG environment.
  • Significant purchasing experience with a track record of delivering cost improvements.
  • A strong understanding of end to end supply chain, including manufacturing processes and packaging technologies
  • A skilled negotiator and project manager with experience of third party vendor management
  • Be qualified at a degree level and ideally be CIPS Qualified (or working towards).
  • Experience of SAP and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely within a team and under own direction.
  • French fluency would be an advantage.

This role will also include travel within the UK and Europe of around 10/15%.
