Stock Control & Material Movement Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Church & Dwight’s Warehousing & Logistics department for a Stock Control & Material Movement Coordinator, based in Folkestone, Kent reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager.

The Role:

As Stock Control & Material Movement Co-ordinator in our Warehouse/Logistics Team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including managing Church & Dwight stock from material suppliers through to end users. This will be done by:

  • Ensuring the stock systems are managed, updated and accurate.
  • Working with 3rd parties to ensure the accuracy, integrity and any legal compliance of stock and levels is maintained at all times. Investigate all differences in a timely manner and follow through to resolve the differences.
  • Through the teams, storing goods and deliver materials in appropriate conditions to both internal & external customers in line with the needs of the business and preventing damage, shrinkage or quality issues
  • Continually challenging the operation to drive continuous improvement, minimum stock levels and availability of all Church and Dwight products both in house and across domestic and export markets.


Key Duties:

  • To ensure all stocks are recorded accurately on SAP, carrying out investigations of stock discrepancies and making corrections as required following through investigations with other departments. 
  • Carry out Perpetual Inventory and Cyclical counts using results to challenge all departments and 3rd Party Warehouses and setting SLA’s.  
  • Warehouse pallet reports and KPI’s.
  • Checking of non-physical storage areas in SAP to ensure that everything is accounted for at month/year end and if any stock is showing to resolve with relevant departments.
  • To liaise with all departments to ensure that the correct stock and quantities are in the right place at the right time, and with the planning and sales team to keep everybody aware of stock availability.
  • To establish regular reviews and Bi Monthly visits to other 3rd party logistics provider to provide assurance that stock control is accurate and deliveries are being performed in an appropriate manner.
  • Review any stock issues with comparison reports and investigate reasons


The Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Operational/stock control experience from a Warehouse & Distribution background.
  • Confident user of SAP warehouse and stock management systems.
  • Experience of working closely with 3rd party logistics providers.
  • Strong organisation, multi-tasking and prioritisation skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build appropriate professional, friendly and accessible relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Confident user of IT systems
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make accurate and expedient decisions
  • Achievement of targets and strategic objectives
